Take appropriate measures to avoid
malaria
|
|
|
Travel Doctor
would like to remind all travellers to malaria areas during the coming
Easter holidays that there is a very real threat of malaria in seasonal
malaria risk areas at this time of the year. Travellers to the Kruger
National Park and Mozambique, in particular, should consider malaria
risk avoidance measures, including avoiding mosquito bites and taking
appropriate prophylaxis. To view the latest version of the Department
of Health's regional malaria risk areas map click here. To make a Travel Clinic
appointment, click here.

Kenya Tourism
Federation recommends
avoiding parts
of the country
|
|
|
The Kenya Tourism Federation recommends
visitors to the country avoid most
parts of Western Kenya and the Rift Valley, including Kisuma, Eldoret
and
Kericho, reports AMREF Flying Doctor Service.
While the current situation is said to be calm, there have been
frequent
disturbances and civil unrest which could endanger the safety of
travellers to the region.
Visitors to Nairobi should avoid the high density lower income housing
estates and slums which are generally considered unsafe.
